Warmists: “Polar Bears in Antarctica Face Changes” due to Global Warming.

When talking about the threats posed by global warming, it’s handy if you are aware what hemisphere a particular animal supposedly under threat from global warming actually lives in.

Shooting straight to the top of our competition for the dumbest news article on global warming for 2011 is this sombre warning on the effects of global warming:

Temperatures are increasing, glaciers are melting fast, and sea levels are rising. The entire planet is affected by global warming, and polar bears in Antarctica aren’t the only ones facing changes.

Climate-Change

If the polar bears are in Antarctica now, and not the Arctic like they used to be, then they are indeed in for a few changes. But global warming will not be one of them.

Send in the clowns . . .

  2. Hahahaha, brilliant. Great spot, HTL.

  3. A perfect demonstration of the ignorance of the CAGW faithful.

  4. Details, merely small details. Reminds me of this annoying woman that I met when I took my daughter to London Zoo last summer. She told my daughter (who is 5 years old) that the penguins looked sad because humans are being so mean to them causing climate change. I was very tempted to reply that no, penguins look sad because all they do is stand around all day with their hands at their sides, then they shamble around, change position, and repeat it. The males make this horrid trek every year, while the females remain standing around, doing nothing but waiting for the males. Oh and they put out tons of guano which means that you can’t go swimming near any island where they congregate. Then I later had to explain to the same lady that yes, piranha fish have fairly sharp teeth. Makes you think of another Oscar Wilde quote: ” I sometimes think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability” :o)

  5. Great start to the new year. Just sent the following e-mail but don’t expect a response.

    Dear sir,

Well, there is only one thing to say after reading that: D’OH!

    Regards

    P.S. Happy (cool) New Year.

  6. Why don’t polar bears eat penguins?

Cos they can’t get the wrappers off

(this is an old Brit joke, Penguin is a make of chocolate bar)

  8. This site has only just started-up and already you’re censoring comments?

    • I’m sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about. I haven’t censored a single comment. WordPress does require me to “moderate” comments that for some reason get stopped by the spam filter, and that sometimes leads to a delay of a day or two until i get around to it. But no censoring yet.

Not everything is a conspiracy. Some things just happen.

    • Yep, thought so. Stuck in the spam filter. Don’t ask me why!

      • Sorry about that (and I don’t usually apologize – ask my wife) but the post was up for some time then disappeared. As soon as I posted the conspiracy post, the other one instantly popped up with it. I blame Al Gore.

Anywho, you have a great site going here so I hope it and you live long and prosper. Happy New Year.

  9. Wonder where that guy got the Dr. in this title…

  10. They do actually live in an upside down world!

  11. I’ve just located this post in order to send someone the link. But when I clicked on the original source article it seems to have been corrected!

Google’s cache is dated the 4th Jan, and is the same. Did anyone take a screen shot of the original?

    • Lol – thanks for the heads up there. I think one of the early commentators here took pity on them and emailed them to correct it before they became the laughing stock of the entire internet.
