Pam Anderson Jets into London From Malibu Mansion With New Message: “Be Less consuming and More Protective of the Earth”.

This is all so surreal, i have to admit to wondering if this isn’t actually some elaborate Onion style spoof . . .

Celebrity Pamela Anderson, famous for, er, Baywatch, has joined the fight against global warming and is in London to warn us of the consequences if we don’t tighten our belts and change our ways.

In an interview with the Sun newspaper she explained how she was “so tired of talking about my boobs and boyfriends” and had been looking for something more serious to discuss. She credits her conversion to a “manifesto” on climate change from Sixties fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood (a manifesto on climate change from someone who sells dresses? This just gets better and better). Anderson read the manifesto whilst on a modelling photo shoot and decided she now wanted to help save the world.

Anderson had jetted across the Atlantic from her new eco-mansion in Malibu, not far from Al Gore’s beach house. She also has a large home in her native Vancouver, and her and her family frequently fly between them, living in either one of the two massive, palatially appointed eco-homes.

Climate Change Campaigner, Pamela Anderson’s New Eco Home. It’s got energy saving light bulbs or something.

And after stepping off the jet in London, Anderson had a message for us, one she had gleaned from chats with her climate change campaigner friend, Vivienne Westwood. We had to stop consuming so much and get used to getting by with less if we were serious about saving the planet. She said she understood that such sacrifices would be painful for many, but that pain and doing without was necessary:

With a zeal that sounds more appropriate coming from a student radical, she adds: “We have to start prioritising and a lot of it has to do with being less consuming and more protective of the earth.

“I understand that everyone is hurting but sometimes when you take a leap of faith and you do the right thing, everything else falls into place.

Anderson ended the interview with the invitation to the reporter to “use me” to spread the word about global warming. She is now understood to be in an intensive twelve week educational program aimed at helping her understand the word “Ironic”.

  1. “We had to stop consuming so much and get used to getting by with less if we were serious about saving the planet”

What, like not having boob jobs which lead to fame and fortune, I suppose?

  2. She is now understood to be in an intensive twelve week educational program aimed at helping her understand the word “Ironic”

The same program, fellow Canadian, Alanis Morissette failed?

  3. Ha ha, Pammy is in illustrious company, the “do as I say, not as I do” school of eco-celebrity-ism. Some other members:

    * John “5 private jets” Travolta: we must all “do our bit for climate change”.
    * Harrison “6 private planes and a helicopter” Ford: “We are at a tipping point”.
    * Leonardo “Learjet Liberal” DiCaprio: “Our planet’s alarm is going off”.
    * Sheryl “three tractor trailers, four buses, and six cars” Crow: “We can make it work with only one square per restroom visit”.
    * Madonna “new toilet seat every day” Louise Ciccone: “If you wanna save the planet, jump up and down!”
    * Prince Charles “16,400 airmile green crusade” Windsor: “Our planet has reached a point of crisis”.
    * James “3 homes in Malibu” Cameron: “We’re going to have to live with less”.
    * Barbra “120 bath towels per hotel visit” Streisand: “We are in a global warming emergency state”.
    * Paul “Lexus by airmail” McCartney: “Less meat means less heat”.

Oh, it’s a wonderful club to be a member of. You get to eat your cake, have it too, and then tell everyone else they can’t have theirs!

  4. Marvellous! Pamela, where Hansen, Mann and Gore failed, you have convinced me of the error of my sorry ways. /sarc

Pamela Anderson, Vivienne Westwood and alexjc38’s list of self anointed eco-hypocrites are embarrassments to the ‘Cause’.

Let them run their idiot mouths off. They can only hasten the break down of the whole CAGW shambles.

  6. AGW is about as genuine as her tits & just as ridiculous.

    This IS a joke, right?

  9. She is not in Angelina’s league! The Pitts hired a train from London to Glasgow just for themselves.

    Then proceed to lecture us.

    What’s That Smell, Angelina?

  10. She should be in politics ALL BOOBS and NO BRAINS equates to ALL HOT AIR and NO SUBSTANCE.fits the bill perfectly-.CLIMATE CHANGE is NATURAL and CO2 is LIFE

  11. Priceless

  12. Don’t forget we can vote for our favourite green celebs here:
    http://www.greenawards.com/about/best-green-celebrity/nominees

Last year’s winner was Brazilian supermodel and UNEP Goodwill Ambassador Gisele Bundchen, who has a $20 million mansion with its own elevator; she thoughtfully advises readers of her blog, however, to use the stairs, in order to get more exercise and to save electricity.

    • I just voted for Clooney. Guess he has the most air miles. I hope that he wins and therefore makes the green movement unbearably annoying.

  13. alexjc38, I went to that site and actually read three of the profiles, when it occurred to me that life is too short. What a bunch of eco-loon hypocrites they are.

Erykah Badu (who she?) is a ‘devout vegetarian’ (eh?)
who “has also collaborated with Kiehl’s to produce an eco-friendly body lotion in a biodegradable bottle, encouraging people to use more products that do not harm the environment. Badu also designed the bottle, which is made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled packaging.”

That’s going to save the world then.

  14. Vivienne Westwood is fascinating. She rose to fame by designing the punk look and selling ridiculously expensive t shirts to anti consumerist punks. I would say, transcendental marketing, beating the laws of logic.

    Much to learn from her.
