TIME Magazine: It’s Carbon Rations or “Relentless March Into a Furnace”

TIME magazine has an admiring piece on the UK government’s plans to impose carbon rationing on all citizens, comparing global warming with the Nazis and their gas chambers.

It says the choice now for America as well as the UK is between carbon rationing and the furnace:

It may be that even Britain, which still prides itself on its plucky courage and solidarity during WWII, has become too individualistic a nation to stomach enforced sacrifice. Brits and Americans and everyone else in the rich nations may end up deciding that they would simply prefer the good life now, even if it means continuing on this absurd and relentless march into a furnace of their own creation

TIME. Brits Ponder Fuel Rationing.

Imposing carbon rationing in America as well. Good luck with that one.

  1. I would not pay any attention to Time Magazine if I were you.

    Another Ice Age?
    Monday, Jun. 24, 1974
“Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.
……….Telltale signs are everywhere — from the unexpected persistence and thickness of pack ice in the waters around Iceland to the southward migration of a warmth-loving creature like the armadillo from the Midwest.Since the 1940s the mean global temperature has dropped about 2.7° F.”

Here is the same pattern of “Telltale signs are everywhere” from more recent times regarding things caused by global warming.

  2. Carbon rationing is like the humanism of the fifties that exported bread from the WWII victors to the starving masses of the post Third Reichers.
But absent the humanism this time. This was AGW- all governments want- turned into ACC- a clear consensus that mutated into ACD.
Cameron and Clegg, wake up and smell the coffee. Ed Millipede ‘ain’t the enemy – you are.
Your in power, he ain’t. Done take too much satisfaction in that he’s just a weak little done-nowt. You barely make his league.
Keep it up guys and before you know it UKIP or worse may be in power. And it’ll be by your “efforts”
PS- this bloke stringer. Who is he and why does he remind me more of Winnie than Neville? Unlike yourselves!

  3. Time magazine continually thrashes about trying for relevance . . what a pity they don’t just do the honest thing like Punch did a few years back and give it up.

  4. Unbelievable rhetoric from a publication as mainstream as Time magazine.

Wow. I had to blink a few times to make sure I was really reading that.

    • Hi Donna,

It’s pretty dumb, but then again this is the paper that published a fawning article on “Uncle Joe” Stalin when it was already widely known that the many was one of the biggest genocidal killers in history.

They then re-did the article, to make it less embarrassing. It’s tough to find the original now, but I’ll have to see if I can dig it up one day.

…long wave infrared backradiation of about 100 or 150 W/m^2.

Man. “Lost their marbles” doesn’t begin to describe it. Time Magazine is inciting the violent – or maybe merciful – desire in me that somebody put them out of their misery.

  6. The clock ran out for TIME many, many years ago.
When it comes to believable stories, ‘The Onion’ has now surpassed TIME.

  7. Mark_In_St_Pete

Well ?I went ti the website and read the article and noticed that Time is partnered with CNN the (Communist News Network). So it just goes to figure what a load of crap it would be. Thank GOD I can still think for myself. I certainly hope the Brits ain’t that stupid.
